I learned more in 6 weeks at SkipQ than I did in 4 years in university. - Jibran Haseeb, SkipQ Trainee, Triangulum Cohort, February 2022 and Software Engineer at Emumba

Joining SkipQ’s training was a life-changing experience.** - Muhammad Asghar Ali Querishi, SkipQ Trainee, Andromeda Cohort, December 2021 and Software Engineer at Xgrid

I rejected 2 job offers during my training because I didn’t want to miss out on finishing the amazing experience I was having at SkipQ. I could never imagine that I could learn this much within 2 months - Faheem Khan, SkipQ Trainee, Andromeda Cohort, December 2021 and Software Engineer at Xgrid

Hi 👋🏼! You are probably reading this because you have cleared the first 2 steps in your SkipQ journey. You have applied to SkipQ and have passed our online exam 🎉.

In this case, congratulations on getting selected in SkipQ's latest cohort 👏🏼! The next few weeks will change your life 🚀!

🎯How will SkipQ train me?

Get ready to immerse yourself in a simulated industry environment. You will get trained by Instructors with PhDs 🎓, who studied in top universities in the US. You will get coaching from Senior Software Engineers working at Google, Amazon, and Salesforce 👨🏻‍💻. SkipQ’s instructors and coaches work together to ensure you are industry ready! As our instructors and coaches live in Silicon Valley and elsewhere outside Pakistan, this training will run fully remotely 💻.

This training will run differently from any course you have taken in university 🏫. You will not learn by listening to the instructors. You will not take any final exams. You will not compete with your peers. Instead, you will learn by collaborating with your peers. In fact, you will get better grades and better interviews if you support your peers in the learning process 🏆!

If you are following our Full-Time program, you will work on an 8**-week long project**. The project is divided into 6 sub-projects. Each sub-project runs for 1 week ⏳. At the end of each week, you will present your work to instructors and peers.

If you are following our Part-Time program, you will work on a 16**-week long project**. The project is divided into 6 sub-projects. Each sub-project runs for 2 weeks ⏳. Every 2 weeks, you will present your work to instructors and peers.

SkipQ’s training runs using an agile framework. You will complete each of the sub-projects via a sprint 🏃🏽. This means that you will

  1. Define what needs to be delivered 📝.
  2. Break down the project into tasks and provide effort estimates for each task 💼.
  3. Start working on each task and track progress by providing a daily update (daily-standup) describing “What did I do yesterday”, “What will I do today”, “Where am I blocked” 🧍🏼.
  4. Conclude the sprint with project demos and retrospectives. This means you will present your work to the instructors and your peers. Finally, you will reflect on how you did and find ways to improve 📈.

If you are in our Full-Time program, then at the end of each week, you will participate in code reviews. You will review one of your peers’ code and they will review your code. You will provide suggestions for improvement and update your code based on your peer’s feedback.

If you are in our Part-Time program, then the code reviews will take place every 2 weeks.

🧠What will I learn?
